The Southern Wake Series

The 14th Annual Spring 2 Summer wakeboard tournament will be the first stop of the Southern Wake Series events for 2021. We are still working on dates for the Mountain Wake and Wake Battle events. Both locations were postponed by mother nature; we will keep you updated as things change. We appreciate all that have contributed to help make the 14th Annual Spring 2 Summer Wakeboard Tournament a success. The riders and fans keep us motivated and having a great time, but we also want to thank the sponsors that help us put on such a great family event each year. Russell Marine - Smith Lake, Hyperlite Legion - Mid South, Hyperlite Wakeboards, Flip Side Watersports, Kraken Boardsports, Redbull, Wyndham Garden Lake Guntersville and the City of Guntersville.

Divisions

Whether you’re new to wakeboarding or a seasoned pro you’ll find a division to fit your skill and make valuable new friends. You have the opportunity to compete in two different championships.

Series Championship - The series championship for the Southern Wake Series will be determined by combining all points from all of the events in the individual series plus any bonus points awarded for Mountain Wake Games cable contest. In case of a tie for the 1st, here are the criteria to break the tie: The first tiebreaker is the rider who took home the most 1st place finishes. The second tiebreaker is the rider who has the most 2nd place finishes. The third tie breaker is the rider that finishes highest at the final tour stop.

Collegiate Championship - Any person currently enrolled in a College or University, no matter the state the school is located in will be allowed to compete as a represenative of that school at each stop of the series. The points said person earns in their division will be added to the overall score for that school and a collegiate winner will be announced for that stop. Each stop will have one collegiate winner and an overall collegiate champion will be named at the end of the series. In case of a tie breaker the winner will be determined by the cumulative points of that college at the end of the series.

Frequently asked questions

Some frequently asked questions for you.

Can I just come watch ?

Although we would encourage you to compete you are free to come watch, the event is free unless you are competing. You are able to watch from the shore or there will usually be a floatilla tied up, so feel free to bring your boat and enjoy. Word of warning: We do close the boat ramp to all boats except tournament and safety boats. If you need to put your boat in the water you will have to use another launch. There are several close by, BUT you will have to go under the causeway to get to the event site. If you have a wakeboat with a tower you will more than likely have to lower the tower to get under and due to water fluctuations this may not be possible even with the tower lowered.

I have never wakeboarded, can I try it at your event?

Most events will have a demo day the day before so that you can ride new product from Hyperlite and try out the Nautique G23, and will usually have a pro on hand to give pointers or to teach you for your first time. Keep an eye on social media for details closer to the event date.
